Il giorno 11/04 alle ore 11:00 nell'Aula 4_B, ed. D, la prof.ssa Jhilik Bhattacharya del Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology terrà un seminario intitolato "Model Compression Techniques for Deployment on Edge".

Abstract:
While the availability of computational resources has promoted the growth of transformer
based models for vision as well as other applications, there is a parallel field of research which
focuses on optimizing these architectures for applying them on the edge. Edge device models
play a huge role in data privacy along with being resource optimized. Additionally, removing
the requirement of large servers for edge applications has a massive economic and
environmental impact. These involve model compression techniques like pruning,
quantization and distillation. In this seminar, we will take a few computer vision edge
application examples like assistive driving and discuss model compression techniques in this
context. The discussion will cover state-of-the-art frameworks for standard vision based tasks
and their compression scopes, to not only promote faster inference with limited resources,
but also efficient finetuning and adaptations.
