Field Blast Testing & Blast Wave Propagation

Various blast tests will be presented during the lecture, including the analysis of blast test propagation with diferent type og charges – weight, type of explosive materials, etc.

Design & protection of blast loaded glass windows

Methods for the design of blast loaded glass windows will be disscused during the lecture. In addition, several approaches to increase the strenght of such loaded vulnerable glazing systems will be presented.

University of Žilina - Faculty of Security Engineering

The history of the Faculty of Security Engineering began in 1952 when the Faculty of Railways at the Military Technical Academy (VTA) in Brno was founded. In the year 1953,
the VTA was incorporated into the Technical College of Railways in Prague and named the Military Faculty. The University moved to Žilina in 1961, where the military studies ended in
2004 but higly influenced the structure of educational programmes. The offered courses aim mainly at solving natural, ecological, economic, social and other crisis situations, civil security and rescue services.Uiversity education in accredited fields of study is offered at all levels (Bachelor, Master, Doctoral degrees).
